About companyThe Destination Insider
an empowered community that facilitates impactful social and economic gains. We are constantly exploring latent potential and possibilities to develop community-based tourism. To get communities and villagers involved, which will enhance village life and allow travelers to experience local lifestyles and daily routine in a Sri Lankan village.
About companyHouse of Travels & Tourism (Pvt) Ltd is proud to sponsor water purification project in one of the remote villages in Udawalawa area. Isolated from the known civil life of the city with an incredible nature surrounding. Farming is the main income for the inhabitants who are mostly self-caterers. Lots of people in this area had health problems due to the consumption of non-filtered drinking water over the years. Kidney diseases were the most common problem for those people.
House of Travels & Tourism (Pvt) Ltd started a sponsorship of a Water Purification Project which enables the villagers to get filtered water. Since January 2019, more than 500 litres of drinking water can be produced on a daily basis and treat all inhabitants of the village which turned their living conditions into a better one. The project facilitates approx. 100 villagers with drinking water.
To help bring smiles to people in need. We have pledged to donate a percentage of the income we earn from our eco-tourism projects to elders & children’s homes in Colombo & Jaffna.
We have partnered up with Helping hands for Education to develop educational infrastructure for underprivileged children in rural areas in Sri Lanka.
